Las costuras de lo fantástico en El makech púrpura

Resumen

En este artículo se exploran los diferentes usos del género fantástico en el cuentario El makech púrpura de Daniela Armijo, publicado en 2022 por Interior 403. A la luz de los teóricos Tzvetan Todorov y Roger Caillois, se exploran algunas características del géne- ro fantástico y sus diferencias y cercanías con respecto al género maravilloso y el género mimético. De esta forma, se busca ver de qué manera, en los cuentos de El makech púrpura, se establecen relaciones entre estos tres tipos de ficción o de representación de la realidad. Asimismo, se analizan algunos recursos literarios que permiten la articulación tanto de lo fantástico como de lo maravilloso: las temáticas y conflictos arquetípicos que aborda el cuentario; el uso de la voz gramatical y de la polifonía; la creación de es- pacios y atmósferas; los momentos de trasgresión; las expectativas y el bagaje cultural del lector. La selva y las posibilidades de lo gótico dentro de este ámbito, así como la presencia de los animales, ocupan un lugar central dentro del cuentario y del artículo.

This article explores the different uses of the fantastic genre in the storybook El makech púrpura, written by Daniela Armijo and published in 2022 by Interior 403. In the light of the theorists Tzvetan Todorov and Roger Caillois, I explore some of the characteristics of the fantastic genre and its differences and closeness with the fantasy and the realistic genre. I seek to see how, in the stories of El makech púrpura, relationships between these three types of fiction or representations of reality are established. Likewise, I ana- lyze some literary resources that allow the articulation of both the fantastic and the fantasy genres: the topics and archetypal conflicts developed by the stories; the use of grammatical voice and polyphony; the creation of spaces and atmospheres; the moments of transgression; the expectations and cultural baggage of the reader. The rain forest and the possibilities of the Gothic within this space, as well as the presence of animals, occupy a central place in the storybook and in the article.
